About Us
The Scarab Brewing LLC brewery and taproom are the culmination of over ten years of preparation and planning by former corporate technology nerds Kerrie Opprecht and Pedro Sanjurjo. Longtime brewers and passionate fans of the art and science of artisanal fermentation, their global travels have enabled them to explore and experience hundreds of different models of breweries, beer bars, brewpubs, and taprooms.
Scarab Brewing represents a select set of beer styles, crafting methods, and customer service models gleaned from those experiences and tailored to the Miami craft beer market.

TAPROOM OPERATIONS
PedrO SanjurjO
Pedro is a certified Cicerone Beer server™ (certified beer server professional), and a social networker by nature, accumulating a social circle with members who are passionate about supporting the success of the business, from financial support to craftsman expertise in multiple trades and specialties. He has studied tap room success in subjects ranging from Brewery Safety to Line Cleaning and Beer Quality.
BREWING OPERATIONS
Kerrie OPPreCht
Kerrie studied beer production at Florida International University and was accepted to the Advanced Brewing program at Siebel Institute of Technology, where she graduated in 2016.
A brewer for over ten years, she has designed, brewed, bottled, tested, and managed the tasting and review processes for over 50 different styles of beer, accumulating a substantive set of customer-favorite recipes (scoring 5 of 5 stars) for the initial offerings at Scarab.
